FOOTPRINTS for EYES

There at the red light,
for a brief moment
my utmost love and concern is directed
solely towards the broken woman on the park bench

lying on her side
with

f o o t p r i n t s

for eyes.

And then
as quickly as my foot slides across the pedal

the light flicks to
green

and she is
g o n e.
