Knife of a Week

September 26, 2010 by Derek Doublin in Poetry Scribblings

 Sometimes the day is a  s w i t c h b l a d e.
And when you hold it in your hand, you are clear that it's designed for violence.
It's there to cut you, your face, your heart, your hands, etc.
And so you prepare yourself for the onslaught of pain.
You close your eyes, take a breath, click that switch...

and then out pops a comb.
